K-Fashion: Why South Korean Street Style is IG’s favourite trend

Move over K-Pop and K-Beauty. The latest wave of South Korean favourites is taking over your feed and filling the Infinite Wardrobe; K-Fashion, especially the street style stars during and after Seoul Fashion Week, is fast gaining popularity with fan-favourites oversized menswear piece, statement colours, and proportions. Maybe it’s the seasonal refresh or the exciting street snaps, but it’s definitely time for a wardrobe tune-up!

Seoul Fashion Week

The X-factor of what makes K-fashion visually powerful yet stylistically effortless is in the confidence. Go easy on the accessories but go all out on the colour palette, bold silhouette, and proportions.

Here are 3 simple tricks to ace that K-fashion look for that OOTD on the ‘gram:

1. Simple at its best: winning combo of layers+sneakers

When it comes to K-Fashion, layering is key. Be adventurous and try one simple texture with a detailed piece. Keep your sneakers for all-day comfort and style, but switch it from day to night with dangling earrings and a darker lipstick shade!

2. Fun 101: texture-on-texture at play.

It may sound crazy to mix fun leather, form-fitting neoprene, washed denims, and statement colours in silken materials, but it works. Trust k-fashion to mix weird combinations and have stellar Instagram-worthy results. You’ll want to keep your wedges or creepers for this.

3. Your best bet: Maxi wrap dresses.

If your current wardrobe is already filled with visors, sneakers, and chunky accessories, you can go for maxi wrap dresses or solid one-piece styles to go with your colourful accessories. Channel crew socks and your favourite sneakers to take this chic look to the streets.
