Designer Spotlight: Say goodbye to boring workwear thanks to Australian label Pink Ruby

For this special Australian Edition of our Designer Spotlight series, we’ve rounded up eight labels from Down Under that have landed on our radar. Here’s a label with a stylish take on workwear:

Launched in 2008 in Sydney, Australia, Pink Ruby is best known for their suiting and dresses.  The label’s collections embrace sophistication and cosmopolitan chic through cleverly designed silhouettes for women who are not afraid to stand out. Their fabrications include viscose, wool, and floral prints with decadent detailing which reflects the signature aesthetic of the brand. Their lead designer has been featured on British Vogue and Elle Magazine, and was even selected in the first round for Project Runway Australia in 2012.

With a good mix of patterned pieces and understated styles in a vibrant colour palette, you can update your work wardrobe with our selection of styles from the brand.

From the Infinite Wardrobe: Summer Delight Vest Dress

It’s easy to stick to your blacks, greys and navys when it comes to workwear. Why not experiment with fresh new colours for a change? Who knows, you might end up loving it! Try this mint vest dress with oversized lapels and a belt to cinch the waist for a chic, minimal look.

From the Infinite Wardrobe: Mon Cheri Tie Dress

Ready to try something bolder? Strut into the office in this striking electric blue number that still means business. The cap sleeves and fitted silhouette will flatter your figure and make you look polished and professional.

From the Infinite Wardrobe: Karen Colour Block Fitted Dress Black

However, sticking to black and white ensembles doesn’t have to look plain and predictable either. Try a contemporary variation of the classic LBD, such as this one with the asymmetric cuts for some visual interest.

From the Infinite Wardrobe: Iza Flare Dress

For casual Fridays in the office, have a little more fun with coloured prints like this one that still looks polished and proper. The airy sleeves and A-line silhouette are easy to move around in so you can ring in the weekends in comfort.

From the Infinite Wardrobe: Blooming Bouquet Jumpsuit

Workwear doesn’t have to be boring and this jumpsuit is proof. With scallop lace detailing on the neckline and lace trims on the sleeves, it’s feminine, sexy, and can definitely still be office-appropriate. Wear it as it is with pumps for a more casual day at work, or pair it with a blazer for formal business meetings. And when you’re done with a hard day’s work, you can head out for drinks with colleagues – perfect!
