Designer Spotlight: Wear the party dresses that brought Bec + Bridge to It-girl cult status

For this special Australian Edition of our Designer Spotlight series, we’ve rounded up eight labels from Down Under that have landed on our radar. To kick things off, here’s one that’ll be great for party season:

Created in 2003, Bec + Bridge is a contemporary womenswear label named after co-founders Becky Cooper and Bridget Yorston. The dynamic pair have a meticulous eye for detail alongside a ‘finger-on-the-pulse’ ability to create highly coveted collections. With chic separates in fresh and vibrant colour palettes and their signature party dresses, it’s no surprise the label has gained a loyal fan base which includes celebrity It-girls like Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Kaia Gerber.

Besides running one of Australia’s most successful fashion labels, Cooper and Yorston also juggle four children between them (we tip our hats off to you, ladies!) They see the label’s success as a testament to their strong friendship, which has spanned nearly two decades. In fact, they’ve been business partners since way back, when they turned their first design project–customising worn-out jeans of their male friends with spray paint and embellishments–into a thriving business that even caught the attention of independent stores in Australia! These two were pretty much born to be entrepreneurs.

Making women feel confident and modern in their clothes has always been at the heart of the Bec + Bridge brand, and with party season around the corner, we figured it would be the best time to give these pieces a try.

From the Infinite Wardrobe: Sofie Strapless Dress

Give yourself that added boost of confidence at your next party by accentuating your favourite parts of your body, be it your shoulders, your legs, or both! A midi dress with a high slit like this one is elegant, with a touch of cheekiness – perfect for a party.

From the Infinite Wardrobe: Elke Asymmetric Midi Dress

If you’re one to stick to the classics, play with asymmetricality for a more contemporary look. The asymmetrical sleeves and cut-out on one side gives this minimal black dress more personality while still looking very refined – a choice for your next dinner and dance perhaps?

From the Infinite Wardrobe: Karina Tuck Midi Dress

Add a pop of colour to your look with this chic powder blue bodycon dress — a wardrobe staple that will go with everything. Wear it to work with a blazer or dress it up for a party with elegant accessories.

From the Infinite Wardrobe: Neve Midi Dress

Great for daytime events and gatherings, this flowy summer midi will be the star of the show with its striking green hue and dotted print. The bow detail at the bust adds a cheeky touch, perfect for any summer soirée.

From the Infinite Wardrobe: Karina Mini Dress

If long party dresses aren’t your thing, there’s always the mini dress. A timeless party staple, a mini bodycon dress like this one highlights your curves and is easy to dance around in. Sick of the same ol’ LBD? This season, step out of your comfort zone and go for brighter colours instead.

The devil’s in the details when it comes to Bec + Bridge, so if you’re looking for something clean and classy for your next party look, we’ve got you covered. Explore more styles from the brand here.
