At Style Theory Bags, one of our biggest priorities is our quality and condition control. With over thousands of subscribers renting from our collection of over 2,000 designer bags every day, it’s essential to keep our bags in tip-top condition!
To do that, we take bag care very seriously, with a whole arsenal of tools ready to tend to the needs of every designer bag.
In the first of a two-part series, we sit down with our team of in-house maintenance experts to find out more about the tools they use to prime our bags to look their very best.
Tool #1: Entrupy Authentication Device
Behind every authenticity-guaranteed designer bag on our platform is our team of in-house authenticators, and of course, Entrupy, our state-of-the-art authentication tool.
This mighty technology, which has recently been selected to collaborate with luxury giant, LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton SE (LVMH), makes use of A.I. and machine learning algorithms, to spot counterfeits with a 99.1% accuracy. This makes quite the power duo with our experienced authenticators in ensuring that every designer bag that comes through our doors is authentic — no fakes allowed!
So whether you’re renting or buying a preloved designer bag from Style Theory Bags, you can rest assured that it’s the real deal.

Tool #2: Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID)
With designer bags moving in and out of our warehouse every day, keeping track of these valuable luxury items is a top priority.
Once a designer bag has been accepted onto our platform, it is then tagged with our RFID technology, allowing our warehouse team to validate each bag that enters and leaves the warehouse for rental, restoration or maintenance.
For our community of consignors, this matters all the more in ensuring that the exact same bag is returned to the rightful owner at the end of their consignment period!
Tool #3: Cleansers and Disinfectants
Our in-house maintenance experts take the utmost care of our designer bags and treat them just like they would their own. Once a bag reaches our warehouse, the cleaning process begins!
First, a hand vacuum cleaner is used to remove any loose dirt from the interior. Next, a universal cleansing agent is used together with a non-abrasive, lint-free microfibre cloth to carefully remove surface-level dirt and stains.
Tool #4: Leather Care Balms and Treatments
Leather is a skin, and it needs its own skincare regime too! Cleansing agents can be drying on leather if left alone. That’s why we always follow up with a wax-based, leather care balm which nourishes and rejuvenates the leather. Once every three months, a dirt- and water-repellent gel treatment is applied to protect the bag.
Tool #5: Hardware Polish Kit
To keep the shine on the clasps and chains of our designer bags, our experts meticulously polish and buff any dull or oxidised hardware with metal polish, microfibre cloth, and cotton buds for those hard-to-reach areas.
Tool #6: Storage & Maintenance
To prepare them for a good night’s sleep, our designer bags are stuffed with acid-free tissue paper (it keeps their shape nice and full!) and tucked cosily into individual dust bags. And finally, we let them rest on shelves in our 24/7 air-conditioned warehouse, under low-light settings.
For bags that have fragile handles that might be more susceptible to wear, we protect them with handle wraps — they’re great for accessorising the bag too!
