Although Paris Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2023 isn’t set to happen until September, all eyes are already on the week-long vogue affair as fashion houses prepare to showcase their collections for this year’s final fashion roll call. While many details such as the Paris Fashion Week 2022 schedule remain uncertain, there is one thing that we know for sure: The exhibit is set to open on the 26th of September and will run for the entire week until the 4th of October. Household names such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Dior will be present on the runway, while it’s still unknown which up-and-coming labels are joining the catwalk (but we’ve already got some guesses!).

As usual, Paris Fashion Week 2022 will be an ode to the newest trends that we need to watch out for–and looking back at last year, it looks like we’re in it for playful textures, bold prints, and an overload of colour. We obviously can’t wait to see them in the flesh once the shows open, but in the meantime, allow us to revisit some of our favourite looks from Paris Fashion Week 2021 that are worthy of a mention
#1. Monochrome with a twist by Blackpink Member Jisoo

Last year, we saw a lot of blacks and whites combined with both sharp and dainty accents from heavy metals to shimmering sequins–and topping our favourite monochrome outfits was Blackpink member Jisoo’s embroidered halter minidress that she donned for Dior’s Spring/Summer 2022 Collection. The k-pop star looked equal parts feminine and chic with a matching micro Lady Dior bag, and we’re totally digging the sophistication.

ICYMI, the Spencer and Twilight princess made a case for pastels and classic patterns last year as she wore a baby pink tweed blazer and skirt set for Chanel Paris Fashion Week 2021’s Spring/Summer 2022 Collection. The edgy actress matched her coordinates with a sultry black lace corset and added a personal touch by throwing in a pair of calf-length socks and black loafers.

#3. Denim on Denim By Emma Chamberlain

Who says you can’t sport denim on denim without looking too loud? On her way to Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2022 show, Youtube sensation Emma Chamberlain displayed head-to-toe class wearing a cropped denim jacket and wide-leg jeans to match. What’s more, she drew all eyes on her contrasting leather bag that created a whole new dimension to her look.

#4. Neon Cut-outs by Ines Rau

What is spring-summer without skin-baring cuts and pops of colour here and there? It looks like neons and cut-outs are making another comeback and we’re all for sporting the trend once the season calls for it again. For Le Defile L’Oreal Paris 2021, French model Ines Rau walked the open runway wearing a neon orange cut-out midi dress and paired it with clean, white stilettos to finish off her summery look.

#5. Metallic Medley By Phoebe Dyveno

If you’re leaning towards a more daring style, look no further than metallic pieces to take your outfit up a notch. Last year, we saw Bridgerton star Phoebe Dyvenor go big in her all-silver Paris Fashion Week ensemble featuring a ruffled midrib and a calf-skimming skirt with a thigh-high front slit. She topped it off with an equally eye-catching silver chain belt and a dainty bow that added a touch of femininity to her ‘fit.
